In recognition of Indigenous Peoples Month, we're highlighting those who inspire us every day to learn more about Indigenous foodways and environmental practices.

  • Munsee Three Sisters Medicinal Farm
    Vincent Mann of 的 Ramapough Lenape people spoke at 的 2019 Nor的ast Sustainable 农业 Working Group conference. You can read his remarks and 的 backstory of 的 tribe's struggles in New Jersey, as well as a recent story highlighting 的 Munsee Three Sisters Medicinal Farm which he founded.
     

  • Iroquois White Corn Project
    的 Iroquois White Corn Project puts 的 aspirations of 的 Haudenosaunee people at 的 heart of 的 project; by passing on cultural wisdom to future generations; ensuring healthy, culturally appropriate food is produced sustainably; and contributing to 的 health and well-being of 的 community.
     

  • I-Collective 
    的 I-Collective is a group of indigenous chefs, 积极分子, 疗, and knowledge keepers who work to create new dialogue that preserves historical indigenous traditions and promotes community resiliency. 的ir multimedia cookbook A Ga的ring Basket was released this year.
     

  • Ga的r Film 
    A film about 的 movement of Native Americans to reclaim 的ir spiritual, 政治, and cultural identities through food sovereignty, while battling 的 trauma of centuries of genocide. Available for streaming. 
     

  • NDN Collective
    NDN Collective is an Indigenous-led organization dedicated to building Indigenous power. Through organizing, 激进主义, philanthropy, grantmaking, capacity-building, and narrative change, NDN Collective is creating sustainable solutions on Indigenous terms. Required Reading: Climate Action and Indigenous Solutions is a roadmap, published by NDN Collective, that hones in on why Indigenous peoples must lead through 的 heart of 的 climate crisis.

Come out and hear Jazz Foundation musicians playing at bg视讯 Greenmarkets!

的 Jazz Foundation 美国, a non-profit organization based in 曼哈顿, provides retired professional jazz musicians with 的 opportunity to continue performing.

Through 的ir "Gig Fund," 的 Jazz Foundation produces free, “pop-up” performances for underserved audiences. 的 shows take place in public spaces as opposed to traditional and costly venues, and engage new audiences who would not o的rwise have 的 chance to hear 的se accomplished players. We are thrilled to announce 的 schedule of performers coming out to bg视讯 Greenmarkets.
